Five Ways to Downplay the Fact That You Take Medical Marijuana

Marijuana has many benefits. Recreational users can feel some benefits, but there are even more benefits for users experiencing mental and physical health issues. Medical marijuana can reduce anxiety, eliminate pain, and much more. However, just because you take medical marijuana for a psychological or physical condition doesn’t mean you want to shout that you use weed from the rooftops! There is still a stigma attached to this drug that you may not want to have assigned to you.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be obvious that you use medical marijuana. You can take it without anyone knowing if you know how to use the right way.

Have It Delivered to Your Door

If you feel uncomfortable using marijuana products, it can feel like an impossible task to go out into the world and get your next dose. What if someone sees you going into the dispensary, or what if they see you’ve been shopping and casually ask what you brought home?

Eliminate the anxiety of getting cannabis on your own by having your preferred strain of marijuana delivered to your door. In large cities where using marijuana is legal, like San Diego, you can find delivery services that “deliver to a 20-mile radius in the San Diego area until as late as 9:00 PM.”

Not only is this a great service for those who want to downplay their marijuana use, it’s also a great service for those who are too busy to pick up their next dose or those with medical conditions that find it difficult to leave the house.

Choose a Less Obvious Weed Product

Everyone knows what a joint looks like. Although it’s the most traditional way to get the benefits from marijuana, and some would say the most effective, there are many other ways to get your dose of cannabis without attracting attention.

Just a few of the creative cannabis products available today include:

  • CBD oil
  • Vape pens
  • Cannabis edibles, like chocolate, gummies, and more
  • Cannabis beverages, like cola, fruit punch, and coffee
  • Cannabis capsules that look like traditional medicine pills

Know Where to Hide It

When you think of hiding weed, you probably think of users who stash it in coffee cans and fake bathroom plungers next to the toilet. Some of these methods continue to be successful if you’re using marijuana illegally. However, you probably don’t want to keep your legal stash in a fake bag of Cheetos if you’re using it for medical purposes.

There are many other, classier ways to store your stash that will ensure it’s hidden away safely while maintaining the quality of the flower. Mason jars are a favorite weed container. If you don’t want people to see what’s inside, look for a painted mason jar, or paint it yourself.

You can also find unassuming black containers, some of which come with humidipaks, so keep the weed fresh. Wrist straps, small stash boxes, and home accessories, like stylish hollow books, are all options for the discreet user.

Keep Your House Smelling Fresh

People don’t have to see the weed to know you smoke it. Marijuana has a very distinct smell that doesn’t just go away on its own. If you don’t want people to know you’re using, you have to know how to get rid of that weed smell.

That includes ideas like:

  • Choose a cultivated strain with low odors in mind
  • Make sure your house is ventilated well with a good airflow
  • Use an air purifier, and replace your HVAC filter often
  • Smoke with a pipe instead of using paper
  • Use air fresheners, like candles, room sprays, and Nag Champa incense

Use Discreetly

It doesn’t matter if you’re worried about people seeing you use marijuana, or you’re concerned about guests in your home noticing the smell. Where and when you use marijuana can solve most of your problems.

If you’re worried about people seeing you use, wait until guests go home, or excuse yourself for five minutes and smoke somewhere in private. Even if you find yourself alone at home, resist the urge to smoke inside. Instead, go outside to smoke. If you do want to smoke indoors, smoke in the same room next to an open window to reduce the smell of weed in your house.

Just because you use marijuana for medical reasons doesn’t mean everyone has to know! Follow these tips, and no one would ever guess you use cannabis.
