London: The telecom czar said consolidation action has already began with the MTS and Reliance Communications (RCom) deal.

He said the perfect scenario for India should be four private operators and state-run BSNL.

RCom, India’s fourth-biggest telecom operator, has got Russian conglomerate Sistema’s Indian telecom component in an all-stock deal.

Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL) offers cellular telephony services under the MTS brand across nine telecom circuits in the nation.
