I love being a mom, I really really do, but sometimes I just need a break! For our tenth wedding anniversary, I told my husband that I wanted to check out adults-only resorts in Cancun to enjoy a grown-up romantic escape. No worrying about fighting over floaty toys or picky mouths to feed, just me, my man, and paradise. Grandma was happy to take the kids for a week, they were happy to be eating her cooking, and we were off to kick back and enjoy each other’s company without a rugrat in sight!
Adults-Only Resorts in Cancun
We’ve visited Cancun before as a family. It is a destination we love, and we were happy to be going back as a couple in love. We booked our suite at the Finest Playa Mujeres and their Excellence Club, the adults-only area with luxurious benefits. We really wanted a beach vacation to do a whole lot of NOTHING, just relax, indulge in good food, fine wine, and cocktails, soak up the sun and check out the spa. The Excellence Club at Finest Playa Mujeres gave us EXACTLY what we were looking for!
We felt like VIPs during the private check-in with a welcome drink in hand. The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home as they led us to our Excellence Club junior swim-up suite. Oh la la, heaven! And no sounds of little feet running around, not a child in sight, PERFECT! The jacuzzi was calling my name, and it’s the first thing we did after a long day of travel. A little sparkling wine in the jacuzzi was a great way to kick off a romantic week!
The adults-only pools were our home base for the extent of our vacation. We camped out on comfy loungers with books and cocktails in hand, jumping into the water when we got hot and sampling the whole menu full of tasty treats. How refreshing to not have to fight off splashy kids who want to cannonball just one more time, heaven!
Excellence Club Finest Playa Mujeres Adults Only
Aside from being adults only, the perks of the Excellence Club were really awesome. Bulgari toiletries (my fave!), daily fresh fruit and petit fours in the room, premium EVERYTHING, and even a coffee machine in the suite. There was not a single thing missing. This was pure luxury!
We totally loved the spa, the Excellence Club includes the One Aqua hydrotherapy treatment, and it was divine! My husband surprised me with a very special gift at the spa. He booked us for the Pukalani Love Ritual! It is so hard to put into words just how moving this experience was. It is definitely more than just a massage. I felt rejuvenated, refreshed, and even more in love than ever!
This grown-up escape is just what we needed. We returned to the kids ready to face the chaos of our daily lives with a smile. I think adults-only resorts in Cancun are the best way to celebrate being grown-up, and Finest Playa Mujeres was the ideal choice! We will definitely be back!
