Devotees arrive by thousands -mini jataras

The biennial Samakka- where parallel jataras which would be held in the neighboring Warangal district on Wednesday on a par with the Medaram Jatara, Sarakka Jatara got off to a colourful start in various areas of Karimnagar district.

Folks from the nearby hamlets arrived in a variety of modes of transfer.

The women in their best apparel and swathed in turmeric participated in the jatara by offering jaggery (bangaram) and breaking coconuts. Some others also offered fowls at the jatara site.

Following the shortage of water, borewells sank and supplied water through tankers and arranged showers for bathing.

The Karimnagar district police made adequate security arrangements by deploying additional police forces. The fire services department had also deployed a fire bid in the venue. The traders selling jaggery, coconuts, fowls and other puja substances were doing a brisk business. The medical and health department also started a stall to supply medical help to the devotees visiting the jatara.

Similarly, there was massive pilgrim rush at another parallel jatara at Goliwada in Godavarikhani. The miniature jataras were also being held in various mandals in the district. The mini jataras were being held in 83 places in the district including Housing, Chintakunta, and Rekurthi Board Colony.
