Medaram Jatara: 20L pilgrims offer prayers
Prayers were offered by an estimated 20 lakh people to tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma at the woods village of Medaram in Warangal district on the third day of the biennial fair. The event, touted as the largest tribal festival in Asia, will end on Saturday.
If Telangana state became a reality Chandrasekhar Rao had assured to offer the deities jaggery blocks. However he couldn’t make it allegedly because of indisposition. The deities will leave for the woods on Saturday symbolising the conclusion of the fair.
