What Are the Best Hats to Wear on Hot Days?

The cold weather will soon be gone, and things will start to get warmer as we get closer to spring and summer. It is during these seasons that the sun comes out in full glory. But with it comes the risk of UV rays. Luckily, hats are designed to keep us safe from these harmful rays that can often cause several skin conditions. However, we also have to remember that not all hats are best in providing sufficient sun protection. What are the best hats to wear on hot days?

As such, when determining what to wear when it’s hot out, you have to think less about style and more about practicality. So, we quickly broke down our three favorite types of hats to wear in the summer, which should help make your wardrobe experience a little more functional and stylish.

Baseball Hats

Style: When it comes to style, baseball hats are unlikely to ever go out of fashion. They usually come from several different fabrics such as wool, cotton, mesh, polyester, etc. Moreover, you can always opt to design your own wholesale baseball hats with whatever color, logo, or text you want for either personal use or to promote your business/brand.

Convenience: Baseball caps are the most popular types of hats, and this is down to the fact that they are lightweight, easy-to-wear, and can be packed in a bag quite easily. They are also usually machine-washable, but that also depends on the fabric used. The only issue with baseball caps is that, unlike bucket hats, they don’t come with a neck strap, so it’s possible that when moving at high speed, e.g., riding motorcycles, boats, your hat may end up being blown off.

Comfort: Most baseball caps and custom snapback hats are designed to be easily adjustable, so they can pretty much suit almost anybody’s head. In addition to sizing, you also have to take into consideration the fabric. This is because the lighter and more breathable the fabric is, the more comfortable you will feel.

Sun Protection: Compared to the other hats on this list, baseball hats lack adequate sun protection. The visor only points to one side, which then leaves your ears open and exposed. However, you can counter that problem by patting your hat with a hoodie to keep you covered both front to back.

Straw Hats

Style: When it comes to style, no hat offers a relaxed and unbothered look than a good straw hat, especially when worn in the summer. There are also a variety of styles to choose from, be it the natural wide-brim straw hat. Or the smaller modern straw hats that are made of synthetic fibers. You can also opt to personalize these hats with several different accessories, like ribbons or flowers too!

Convenience: Due to their wide-brims, the problem with these hats is that they aren’t easy to wear or carry around. However, they are versatile, especially when being worn out on a casual day out. So, it doesn’t matter if you are heading to the beach, to meet some friends for coffee or going out to dinner, you can wear them almost anywhere.

Comfort: Another problem that these sun hats present is they are the heaviest hats to wear. This means if you plan on taking long walks or hikes, they aren’t practical. On the other hand, they are very comfortable, so they are meant to be worn as a vacation hat.

Sun Protection: Because straw hats have the widest brims of any other type of hat, they are the perfect choice to keep your head and face completely covered and safe from harmful UV rays.

Style: When it comes to style, if you are looking for that that offers a wide blend of colors, patterns, and substance, then look no further than customized bucket hats. And while these hats were meant to be worn by fishermen, they slowly transitioned into urban streetwear not too long ago. These days, it’s pretty common to see your favorite celebrity or fashion influencer styling one of these on a day-to-day basis.

Convenience: When it comes to convenience, these hats are not only lightweight but easily packable in bags. This is because they all come with flexible brims that aren’t easily damaged like on baseball hats, for example. Moreover, they are machine-washable. Plus, they also come with neck-straps, which ensures they won’t be away.

Comfort: Bucket hats are designed using lightweight and breathable fabrics, which explains their flexible brims and can be worn while doing a wide range of activities. Some custom bucket hats even come with an adjustable drawcord, which provides a comfortably snug fit.

UV Protection: The benefit of bucket hats is that they offer a similar amount of sun protection that straw hats offer but without the added size or weight. The 360-degree wide-brim keeps you covered in all angles, from back to front, thus allowing you to keep even your ears safe from harmful UV rays.
