Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis marked 40th win on the trot, lift St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy

Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis expanded their winning streak to 40 after clinching the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy on Sunday.

The top-seeded pair -Czech pair of Barbora Krejcikova 6 and Vera Dushevina -3, 6-1 in the finals of the women’s double event that lasted for an hour.

With the triumph, the Indo-Swiss pair bagged their 13th women’s double titles.

Before this year, the Indo-Swiss pair won their third consecutive women’s doubles Grand Slam title by lifting the Australian Open prize.

Since an upset loss in the French Open quarterfinals, the pair has been unstoppable, winning 42 of the next 45 matches to take home titles at Wimbledon, the US Open, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Beijing, the WTA Finals in Singapore, Brisbane and Sydney.
