IPL 2016: Mitchell Marsh excited to play for MS Dhoni’s Raising Pune Supergiants

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh is among the regulars in the Australian side in all the three structures of the game. Looking at his all-round abilities, the Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) think tank chose to rope Marsh in for the forthcoming edition of the IPL.

Marsh will play alongside the likes of Kevin Pietersen, MS Dhoni, Australia skipper Steve Smith, R Ashwin and many other stars from the entire world of cricket.

The Australian believes his stint with RPS will help him get more understanding of subcontinental wickets as well as the states.

“It is exciting to be joining Pune, but I will not be thinking about it until I am there.”

Marsh, who used to be injury prone, has had a great run in the last couple of years with the Australia team, and the younger brother of Kings XI opener Shaun Marsh is not hopeless of his fitness carrying on until the ending of the IPL.

“We have still got seven weeks of cricket to go until the IPL begins so you never understand (about harm) – touch wood,” Marsh added.

“But I will do everything I can to keep the body in superb condition. Over the last 18 months or so I have found out what works for me and what does not.”

The hard-hitting all-rounder played three games for the Deccan Chargers in 2011 and14 matches in 2013 for the Pune Warriors.
